We want KHigh's new HD stream to be a very exciting and enjoyable listening experience for you. Here is some information about how to use this stream, and how it works.
Our HD Stream is set at 128 kbps, which means it is operating at a much higher bandwidth than our standard stream, and with better clarity and depth.
We take great care to process both of our streams, to bring you our Smooth Jazz programming over the Internet with better quality than FM radio.
The HD stream is designed for you to enjoy on your Mac or PC, or Internet Radio Tuner, with high-speed Internet. It is not designed to work on smartphones or mobile devices unless they are connected to your high-speed home or work network. This is due to the low bandwidth used by the cell phone networks. Here are a few more tips you might find useful...
1 - Please make sure you have a wired connection to the internet, or excellent wireless signal. The HD stream may not work very well if you are using a weak wireless connection. If you have slower Internet speeds, simply use our standard stream.
2 - You will also want to make sure you have a good internet connection, with DSL speeds, or better. Our HD stream may not work with dial-up connections.
3 - Do not attempt to access the HD stream from a mobile device unless the device is connected to your home wireless network.
4 - If the stream is stopping frequently, check to see if you have a lot of programs open on your computer. If your CPU usage is maxed-out, the HD stream may stop. You can re-start it by simply clicking the "Play" button on the stream page.
5 - If your computer is attached to a network, please make sure you have sufficient bandwidth so you are not slowing down the entire network, (for example, your business network).
6 - There is a 5-hour listening limit set on this stream. The reason for this is so we can conserve bandwidth (which costs us money) if someone accidentally leaves the stream on. If you hit the 5-hour threshold, simply re-start the stream.
7 - We will keep our regular 32 kbps stream available for your use, any time you need it as a back-up, or if you have a slower Internet connection.
8 - We would love to hear your feedback about the quality of our HD stream. If you'd like to send us a note, or if you have technical questions, please click HERE
Thank you for taking time to get acquainted with our new HD Stream, and for listening to KHigh, Colorado's Smooth Channel.
